Ocean Plastic Waste,

Products made from 100% recycled plastic collected from Welsh beaches.

Reimagined in Wales.

Our Mission

Our local beaches have a plastic problem.

Our mission is to make plastic collection on Welsh beaches financially sustainable and scalable.

Community beach cleans do incredible work, but the scale of plastic pollution needs a long-term system, not just occasional clean-ups.

We collect plastic directly from Welsh beaches and turn it into products people actually want to buy. Every product helps fund further collection, processing, and reuse - creating a cycle where removing plastic helps remove more plastic.

We also believe products inspired by Wales should be made in Wales, not mass-produced overseas with little connection to the places they represent. Too many tourist souvenirs are generic products made in huge volumes.

Our aim is to create products with a genuine connection to the Welsh coastline, using locally recovered materials wherever possible.

By keeping materials in use instead of sending them to landfill or incineration, we aim to build a practical circular economy for Welsh coastal plastic.

The Process

We remove plastic from the ocean and make products from it.

Collection.

We hand-collect discarded plastic from beaches before it breaks down further and causes lasting environmental damage.

Recycle.

The plastic is cleaned, sorted, and recycled into durable raw material ready for responsible reuse.

That material is shaped, finished, and given a second life as useful objects, not waste again.

Frequently asked questions

Why are you not a charity?

Made in Mwnt is a circular business, not a charity.
We believe long-term impact comes from making plastic removal financially sustainable, not dependent on donations.

Can I donate?

No. Made in Mwnt is designed to be financially self-sustaining, where product sales fund ongoing plastic collection and reuse. If you'd like to support us please consider purchasing one of our products.

Is the plastic really recycled?

Yes. The plastic is sorted, cleaned, shredded, and remade into new material before being turned into products. No virgin plastic is added.

Are all the products the same?

No. Because recycled plastic is mixed and remade, every piece is slightly different. Variations in colour and pattern are part of what makes each item unique.

Where are your products made?

As our name suggests, it's all made in Mwnt in Wales, close to where the plastic is collected, keeping processing and production local.

Isn't this just more plastic?

The plastic already exists. If it isn’t reused, it’s usually landfilled, incinerated, or washed back into the sea. By turning it into durable products, we keep it out of the environment and help fund the removal of more plastic.
